THE PATIENT EXPERIENCE

VISITING GWALTNEY DENTAL

Thank you for choosing our office, where we have created a comfortable environment in which you can feel confident about the dental care you receive. We understand going to the dentist can be intimidating for many people, which is why we spent the time and resources it took to craft the Gwaltney Dental experience where comfort is key and the staff is courteous, helpful, and welcoming.

COMFORT IS KEY

We specifically designed our lobby and dental rooms with your comfort and interests in mind. From furniture, to decor, to amenities, to the colors we chose for the walls, we made sure our patients have a warm, positive, and welcoming experience. For new patients, filling out paper work has never been less stressful thanks to our lobby’s lounge area. For new and recurring patients, the lounge’s comfy seating is perfect for catching up on your favorite tv shows, the news or the latest articles and gossip from your favorite magazine. The lounge area also sets the tone for your remaining visit. Once you’ve been called back for your appointment, you can look forward to our top-of-the-line dental chairs. Even the slightest anxiety will disappear once our friendly staff shows you to one of our dental rooms and you experience them first hand.

Your First Visit

During your first visit, our objective is to get to know you better, to become familiar with your past dental experiences and to establish a treatment plan that will best meet your dental needs.

When you arrive, please be prepared to complete all insurance and health information forms. We ask that you fill out several forms that will get you acquainted with our office. Please assist us by providing any panoramic X-ray taken within the past six months. If you have dental insurance, please bring your insurance card. This will enable us to give you an estimate of your costs.

The appointment lasts approximately 1 hour. In most cases, we clean your teeth and take X-rays. We perform a thorough exam and evaluate the diagnostic records, which help diagnose teeth decay, periodontal problems, jaw issues and signs of oral cancer. We’ll provide a detailed summary that outlines any existing dental problems and proposed treatments. You’ll receive take-home oral hygiene instructions along with any other suggestions to help you care for your teeth.
